Templates - A new way to look at templating

ZipChart templates bear little resemblance to the typical EMR templating solution where the provider is expected to make a seemingly interminable series of selections from canned "pick lists" that were designed by programmers, not physicians.

ZipChart templates typically mimic existing office notes and are built and customized by the practice and individual providers. The powerful ZipChart difference is that the templates are dynamic and capable of population with real-time data from the current patient chart. More than just demographic information, ZipChart templates can have information such as the current patient diagnoses and list of medications automatically populated in a document that can be further modified and then saved (and digitally signed and faxed to a referring physician) as an office note with a few clicks. Additional available data fields may be added and more comments typed directly into the document on the fly.

Designing your own ZipChart templates is as simple as building them using the same interface and selecting which data points should be displayed. For even finer control over templating patient documents, your own customized "snippets" may be used to add more detail to any templated note.
